Conservatives Try to Destroy the Minimun Wage

I'm about week late on this one. Still worth posting because, its extremely telling, and there is a good chance you didn't know it happened.

The 100 Hours agenda is now in the hands of the Senate.

Madame Speaker Pelosi and the house democrats stood together passing clean, strong and progressive bills. Accomplishing this in the Senate is where the campaign faces its toughest challenge.

Already we've seen the right-wing conservatives demanding us to "Stay the Course"... or worse.

Bob Geiger and the AFL-CIO Blog broke this important story.

Two weeks ago 28 ultra-conservative Senators attempted to completely eliminate the minimum wage.

Brazenly ignoring the clear demands of the voters, they didn't just try to stop the much needed minimum wage increase, they wanted to destroy the federal minimum wage all together.

It is time working America gets their long over due raise. No, it's past time and we need to make that clear.

As Senator Jim Webb so eloquently stated in his rebuttal to President Bush's State of the Union....

Tonight we are calling on this President to take similar action.... If he does, we will join him. If he does not, we will be showing him the way.

So the same goes for Senator Republicans. Follow the will of the people, or we will be showing you the way.
